Pameran Pengantin Malaysia 2010

Especially dedicated to all future brides, do visit this exhibition (or any exhibiton related to wedding for that matter)if time is on your side. From my experience, they do offer good package and sometimes sell items (favors, doorgift, deco, etc) at discounted price! I got my Bunga Pahar for 50% less at the last wedding exhibition.

HIS & HERS (Our wedding shoes)

Im married :) for 30 days now. Cant believe that I'm sumone's wife for a month now.

Alhamdulillah everything went well throughout the ceremony. Everyone closest to me are present at the ceremony. My best friends in primary school, secondary school, my dancing team (yes, I was a traditional dancer in my younger years :D), friends from uni, my room-mates (during 1st, 2nd and 3rd year) in uni, room mates in Kerteh, friends from old work place, friends in kerteh, friends in kl... semua la datang. I feel soooo happy, to be surrounded by people that I care. It just show how they care about me too, care enough to share the joy on my big day.

I lurve my nikah outfit, especially lurve my Sanding dress, lurve my tandang dress. Lurve my sanding shoes, lurve my tudung, lurve my inai, lurve every single thing on my wedding (ye la, who doesnt kan). My hard work spent during the 5 months preparing for the wedding are worth!

Will share some of the pic in my next entry.

2 days and counting down!

OMG! just look at the ticker. No kidding, it is 2 days to my big day! Rasa blom puas call my fiance, well errrrmmm, fiance :) After this kena panggil lain pulak (we are still deciding on what to call each other, for the time being we are happy calling each other gf & bf :p)

What do I feel right now? seriously a mixed of everything. Have you heard of the saying "mandi tak basah, tidur tak lena"? well, that is what I'm feeling/ experiencing right now... hehehe

I was busy running around today doing last minute "stuff" for the wedding (I really thot the word Raja Sehari means you get to be a lazy ass literally *sigh*)

Anyway, I'm seriously, 100% sure, looking forward for this Saturday :D

Nikah

This is of course not my akad nikah... hehehe. Pic was taken from here (saje nk bagi feel..)

I went to my uncle's (who is also one of witness for my solemnization) to hand over the completed Borang Nikah. The forms are supposed to be given to Juru Nikah (Tok Kadi) 1 week before akad nikah (daymn.. its only 5 days to my wedding!).

I was told that the Kadi is the type that loves to ask a few questions (to the groom that is) prior to the Akad Nikah. My brother in law was also being wedded by the same Kadi. One of the questions asked to him is "In one day, how many time do we required to recite Al-Fatihah?" Due to nervousness, my bro-in-law simply answered 5 times (for no particular reason). And the Kadi said "Ish... tak kan kot. Zohor jer kita dah baca 4 kali" hehehhee. Other questions include rukun Sembahyang, Rukun Nikah and others... hehehe, good luck ye sayang :D (I believe you can do it)

Berinai

source

My family decided to have malam berinai kecik.. *pulak dah*. So, being a very obedient child, I agreed. Hehehe. So all in all, my majlis will be in 3 days in a row! Berinai kecik, then nikah, then reception.

The problem now is to get the make-up artist for malam berinai. Since I wont be changing into so many outfit that nite (in-fact, I will be wearing only one!), I decided not to spend so much on the make-up. Yela, it will only be on my face for few hours jer pun. Berinai, amik gambar, then cuci balik coz nak tido. I tried asking a few places. The boutique that will be doing my pelamin is asking for RM400. Another make-up artist is asking for RM350. And lagi best nye, ada this one bridal shop near my house (tak la grand mana pun kedai dia) tanak buat langsung! The owner told me, quote: “Kami make up untuk pengantin kedai kami jer”. Meaning, you’ll have to get the whole package from them in order for you to be make-up by them. Giler berlagak! First time aku dengar. Heh!

My cousin is suggesting for me to just go and do my make up at the cosmetic counter/ boutique at the shopping mall. They normally charged around RM150 – RM200. Just like I did with Estee Lauder for my engagement. And the result is not disappointing and at a very reasonable rate too. But my problem is that I don’t want to go to the place for make up. Meaning, I want to do it at my house. Yela, nama pun raja sehari kan… so I want to be treated like one :D hehehe. For henna pun I managed to get the artist to come and do it at my house… *sigh*, mana nak cari nie???

Hens Nite

Hens night is a party or evening out for a woman who is about to be married, attended only by her women friends. Some part of the world, it is called as Bachelorate Party. And the above is the invitation to my hens nite :)

It was carefully planned and organized by my besties, Mun, Sara and Ita. I'm sooo falttered and touched.

We spent the nite at a Junior Suite @ KL Hilton and partied the night away. We also had a Pink Pyjama Party in the room. Just imagine la kan, 6 girls in stuffed in a room with lots of snacks, music, and gossips! and they also took the trouble to prepare a party pack... a small pink pouch that has a pair of pink earings, pink bangle and pink nail polish (Well obviously Pink was the theme). Thanks girls, the night was a blast! luv ya'all. xoxoxo

You have to be 18 years and above to look/touch/ eat the cuppies above. owh, and it was from wondermilk anyway.

More on wedding

For the past one week, I have managed to complete a few items pending on the checklist. Finalized the invitation card for printing (phew, sepuloh kali check before finally signing the art work), door gift for nikah and marhaban, and most importantly, registered with Kadi. Alhamdullillah, we managed to booked the date and time that we wanted. Hopefully the rest will went on smoothly, Amin.

But rasa sedey skit when the card printer told me that the color that i picked is out of stock :( After half an hour of discussion, I settled with a different color instead :(

Im DIYing the door gift for marhaban and nikah. The former dah siap, check out the pic below and tell me what you think? cantik tak? I will put the yassin in a paper beg together with bugar telur.

I'll share with you my DIY nikah door gift bila dah siap nanti.

(1 month and 3 weeks to the wedding... tick, tock, tick, tock)

my precious :D

Cantik tak? this is my engagement ring. Was choosen by my future MIL. I think it is very classic... my precious!

Oct issue of Majalah Pengantin

The latest edition of Pengantin mag is out in the stores. My wedding preparation is now almost 80% completed, but I'm still purchasing all of the wedding related mags that I can get my hands on. I still want to see if the is any new style or trends, etc.

The October issue of Majalah Pengatin is special in the sense that the mag is celecrating its 100th issue. But sadly its 100th issue is not special at all. Nothing special being introduced. It was just like any other issues. At least give us readers more pages, or extra hands out (diary, reference, scrap book, etc):p

H.I.V Screening

I've been dreading one part of the wedding to-do-list that is H.I.V screening. I hate needles. Well, in another word, I'm scared of it. But it was one of the requirement. Therefor, it is not an option.

So today we took half of the day off to do the test. There is only one clinic in Petaling Jaya authorized by Jabatan Agama Islam for the screening, that is the government clinic in Kelana Jaya.

We arrived at 1.50pm, and we can see that there were already few people lining up infront of the entrance. The clinic is closed during lunch time and H.I.V test is only carried out after 2pm daily.

After filling up the forms, we waited patiently (and nervously, for me that is) for our turn. In-fact, we are the first couple to arrived for the test. There are about few more couples afer us.

My fiance were called first. The test were conducted just over the counter. All you have to do is extend your hand to the nurse, and the rest, i dindnt know as i was sooo affraid to watch. And my fiance is done. I look at his face for any sign of pain. He just smiled.

Me: Awak, sakit tak?
Him: Nak saya tipu or cakap betul2?
Me: Awak!!!
Him: hehehe.. saya rasa awak mesti rasa sakit sikit... tapi sikit jer... awak jgn menjerit tau.. buat malu jer...

And my turn comes. I put on a brave face and walk over to the counter. The nurse confirm my name once again. Then she took out a fresh test kit. Inside the kit, i can see an alcohol cotton sheet, a test strip, a tiny pump (to collect the blood) and most importantly, needle, well, not the traditional looking needle, this is a small square box, where the nurse will place it at the point of your index fingure, and with one push (it has spring i guess), the tip of your fingure will bleed.

when the nurse is begining to wipe my fingure with the alcohol sheet, i quickly glance away to look at my fiance, and "pop"! the needles in and out, and the nurse collected my blood using the tiny pump and place it on the test strip. It did hurt little bit. But not enough to bring out tears.. hehehe. The nurse then instructed us to wait infront of another counter for the result.

After 10 minutes of waiting, the result is out. "Non-Active", for both of us. Meaning we are free from the virus. And this simply mean that we are allowed to be married. Another step closer :)

Tonite, fiance will be meeting with his kadi. Once it is registered with Jabatan Agama Islam, I will begin with my registration (apparently that is the required step)

Dreamland

We finally got our honeymoon package! Thanks to MATTA Fair, I believe we got the best bargain in town. We went there at 10.30am. And after almost 4 hours walking around the 3 halls in PWTC, asking questions, browsing, and comparing, we finally got what we want. It was totally worth it. Thanks fiance... sayang awak :)

You hafta pay RM3/person for entrance (Dapat nylon beg to put all flyers kot and also face mask)

We paid RM2,300 (well, my fiance paid.. hehe)and below are the package that we got:

- 4D3N stay in private villa (in the mountain area facing the beach)
- Private pool and jacuzzi
- 2 hours couple aromatherapy spa
- daily breakfast to be served at villa (and we get to set the breakfast time, all you have to do is call)
- romantic dinner at villa
- Welcome drink, honeymoon cake, special flower arrangements in room
- 1 romantic dinner at beach
- Tour

owh I cant wait! Since the villa tersangat la best, we decided to spend more time in the villa and less time touring the place... hehehe. We will go to few tourist attraction spots and leave the rest for our next visit. Fiance suggested for us to set up Vacation fund so that we will make it a point to travel every year. Next stop is Liverpool. Heh! obsess taw dgn the team... apa2 la sayang, janji jalan :D

The travelling agent also was kind enough to give us beg tag. There were 3 colors to choose from. Since it took me so long to decide between the 3 colors (green, black or red), the agent decided to give us all 3! hehehe. I know it was nothing, but small things counts rite?

Some preview of the villa. Menarik kan?

too little time, so many things to do

It is about 3 months left to my wedding. Plus and minus puasa, raya, my endless outstations, etc, ada la lebih kurang 2 months. Adoi!

It triggers my nervous higher after having a conversation with a friend of mine who is getting married a week after mine.

Him: Kau punye preparation so far macam mana?
Me: ok kot.. huhu. kau?
Him: So far benda2 penting dah settle. Kau dah beli cincin?
Me: Blom. kau?
Him: Dah, kitorang beli last week. Habib tgh sale nie. Baik ko beli cepat. Card?
Me: Blom. Kau?
Him: 2 weeks before raya dapat la... ko ni relax jer ye.

It is freaking me out! they have already registered with the Kadi. Dah buat HIV test, and other stuff as well. As for me, i have few other things still pending on my checklist (at least I have a checklist). Caterer for nikah, kompang group, cincin, few other stuff for hantaran, favor for akad nikah. arrrrgghhhh saya tatut! baju nikah pun blom ada. Ok, I have to make a promise to myself. I will focus on my wedding more this week onwards!

Ratu Sehari

The new addition of Ratu Sehari is now out in the stores. Feels like forever to wait for the new edition of this mag to be out in the market. This is simply because the mag is produced only 3 times in a year. I love this mag as compared to any other wedding related mag is because of the graphic used, the layout, compact with latest info and trend, and others. But it is a little bit bulky which make it less mobile.

Check out the cover

This month's bonus: Diari Ratu Sehari (A complete guide/checklist for bride to be) a must have!

Check out page 230 - 231, a friend of mine is featured on it. So brides to be, go and grab a copy now!

What do you think of crown for wedding?

Last Friday, my fiance and I both took the day off to settle a few matters for our wedding. First stop is Butik Puteris in Precint 8, Putrajaya. I went there once and immediately felt in love with one of the dress. What makes this boutique special, at least to my eyes, is that it is catered for Muslimah. All the wedding dress comes complete with hijab. What makes it appealing to free-haired bride to be like me is the beautiful design of the dresses, modern style and decent all at the same time. And for free-haired bride to be, they do provide hair accessories as well.

The attire that I chose is a long dress with matching beautiful French lace that comes with a meter long train. I took a picture of the dress but won’t be showing you for now as I want it to be a surprise on my wedding day. Baru la thrill kan? Kalau tak hilang seri :D I was told by the girl that the lace used to make the dress is one of the finest and it cost RM1,000 per meter (a total of 5 meters were used). And the total cost for the dress is RM15K! *gulp* I’ll be extra careful not to ruin/damage the dress.

Next I tried on the nikah outfit. Everyone said it look nice one me, but I’m not so keen of it. I need to look for other alternatives. Kalau takde jugak, then I’ll settle for that one. I’ll be wearing tudung for Nikah and free haired for the reception. I tried on few hair accessories. Once I watched on E! about fashion crime. One of the things listed is bride who wore crown/ tiara on their wedding. Unless you are the next heir on the throne, tiara is a big no-no. Problem is, I tried the hair accessories that “melingkar/ melekap” to your head, but it looks weird on me. And I think I look good in the beauty-pageant-like tiara… What do you think? I don’t think it is too much considering it doesn’t look like a queen crown. Susahnye nak decide!

I would love to have something like this!

Next stop was the printing shop in Jalan Pudu. After 2 hours of browsing, comparing, talking and discussing, we finally came to an agreement on our wedding card. Finally! It is beginning to make me nervous thinking that our wedding is only 3 months away!

Final stop is Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur. The aim is to at least get one item pending on my fiance hantaran list. Susah betul la fiance saya sorang nie… sgt la cerewetnye. We wanted to get his pants, shoes or watch. Unfortunately, we spent one and a half hours for his shoes only! He tried few pairs in Bonia, but I can see the hesitation… hehehe. Next he tried few shoes in lacoste. After trying on 6 pairs of shoe, walking back and forth in front of the mirror, and countless questions of “Cantik tak sayang?”, he fainally choose a white pair of casual shoe. Phew! And it cost me RM399… kasut hantaran saya was only RM200 ok. Mahalnye kasut lelaki! Takpe sayang, janji awak puas hati :D

Kuala Selangor

This is the first weekend in this year that I’m totally free from work. No travelling on Friday, No work on Saturday & Sunday. Lega ok!

So decided to watch movie with bf (boring la nak panggil fiancé). We went to GSC OU. Since ramai la sgt org kat wayang, we opted to watched old movie instead. Not literally old movie. Meaning movie that has been quite sometime in the cinema. Takyah berebut, takde org nak tgk pun. The movie titled “State of Play” staring Ben Affleck & Russel Crow. Best giler ok! Although we watched the mid night show, it kept me awake till end! Memang sgt best the story line, and I must say Ben Affleck carry his part quite well. Worth the money spend on tickets.

So I slept late that night updating the wedding checklist and invitation list.

The next morning me and BF went to Amcorp Mall to checkout their wedding expo. It’s a smaller scale expo and not so many vendors are participating on the event. Hmmm… ok la, managed to gather stacked of brochure for reference and comparison.

Then on Sunday morning, we went to Sekinchan (for those of you who has problem with geography just like me, Sekinchan is sumwhere after Kuala Selangor… hehe). This is my first time been to that area. Memang macam perak sikit la… We went there with lil sis and her hubby. Mission is to check out Bahulu and kerepek for wedding favors. Dulu masa my lil sis got married, she get her supply there too.

Jauh la jugak this place. It feels like travelling back to home town (Sebab jauh la sgt). The name of the shop is M.H.P Enterprise. Kitorang pegi kilang dia terus ok. The price range is very-very affordable. Bahulu (3pcs) = RM1.00(with box)/ RM0.55 (Without box) and for bahulu pecah lapan (I call it bahulu giant because of the huge size) = RM2.00 (with box)/ RM1.20 (without box) ~quantity 500pcs and above. They also sell all sorts of keropok. I took the price list for further discussion with my dad.

On our back to KL, we stop at a road side restaurant. My lil sis was a little hesitated at first, takut tak sedap. We ordered soto special, pecal, nasi goreng ikan masin and jelly kelapa for desert. Sedap hingga menjilat jari! It was the most delicious soto and pecal I’ve ever tasted. For the record, I’m a fan of Jawa delicacies. Im a fan of tempe, so trust me when I say that the food at this restaurant, is truly tasty. Siapa-siapa yang lalu Jalan Kuala Selangor – Sekinchan, the restaurant will be on your right. So go and check it out.

Balik jer rumah terus flat. I slept for nearly 4 hours. Penat driving all the way to and back from Sekinchan.

090509

I’m engaged! Errrr… for the second time. The first was way back in 2004. it was at the tender age of 24 years old. But it didn’t work out. We called it off, well; actually it was me who called it off. Y you may ask. Entahla…. At that point of time, I put all the blame on my ex-fiancé. But looking back, I’m sure I was partly to be blamed too. Anyway, like people always said, takde jodoh….

And 5 years after that, I finally found my jodoh  it was the same guy who touched my heart (if you read my previous entry), and he was my bf of almost 4 years.

Experiencing the whole engagement process for the second time, I can’t help but to compare. I realized that I felt more anxious, nervous, excited, happy, thrill all at the same time. The first time I got engage, I felt empty. I didn’t feel happy neither did I felt sad. I’m just confused. Owh, lets not discuss further... I just don’t feel like revisiting my past.

I got engaged few weeks back. 09 May 09 marked the first journey towards marriage life. In summary, I love the simple baju kurung that I wore, I love my make up, I wore tudung voluntarily (and I think I feel very comfortable in it), I love my hantaran, I feel more relax, very2 sure of my decision and certainly looking forward to build my future with this man. Hahahhahaha… jiwang la pulak. Masa nak sarung cincin tu, I cant sensed that my future MIL is extremely nervous.. so sweet  ye la… I’m the first menantu. The ring was a bit loose. The mom asked if I loose weight (which I didn’t).

Everything went well. Alhamdulillah.

It was agreed that Akad Nikah to be held on 12/12/09 and reception on the same day. The reception at Alor Setar on the other hand will be held one week after which is on 19/12/09. I can’t wait!

The week after, my fiancé and I decided to attend Kursus Kahwin straight away. Tu pun because one my event scheduled to be held that week was canceled. Lega dah settle the 2 days course since it seems almost impossible to find a weekend that both of us are not occupied with work.

Now dah start sikit2 on preparation. Reading magazines and blogs, searching for supplier, comparing, and doing check list. It beginning to freak me out since our wedding is in less then 6 months. And time cuti sekolah pulak tu. Sure ramai org kawen. So I have to act fast if I want to secure the best!

So friends, wish me luck.

Will keep you posted.
